RHAPSODY OF REALITIES ; 24TH JULY,2018 ; PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME; THE VICTORY MENTALITY ;

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ ( 1 Corinthians 15:57 ).
Anything is possible! This should be your mentality. Never think defeat, failure or weakness. Cultivate the winning mentality; the mentality that believes and affirms, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” ( Philippians 4:13
). That’s the victor’s mentality, and you develop it through the Word.
It doesn’t matter what your life has been like or the experiences you’ve had; one thing is certain: you’re a victor in Christ Jesus! Irrespective of the affliction, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, destitution, perils, wars etc., that may be ravaging today’s world, you’re more than a conqueror: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” ( Romans 8:37 ).
Trust the Lord and hold on to His Word. When you go through challenges, don’t complain! The Lord knew there’d be challenges, but He gave us the assurance that we’ll be triumphant always: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” ( 2 Corinthians 2:14 ).
Your victory is a settled fact. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”; this is a present-hour truth. Nothing is, and can ever be to your disadvantage. Romans 8:28 declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Have this consciousness!
CONFESSION
I’m triumphant forever, because I’m born of God; greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. My life is for the glory of God. I win every day; that’s my heritage in the Lord! I’m strong in Him, and in the power of His might to do exploits! Blessed be God!

3 weird things about orgasms you need to know

How much do you really know about orgasms? Do you know how long they last? Do you know what they do to your brain? There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to have an orgasm because you can get with some help from sex toys, your bae or just yourself.

So here are some cool facts about orgasm you need to know about.

1. Orgasms can last up to 20 seconds

While the average female orgasm can last from six-eight seconds, some studies have shown that women can orgasm for up to 20 seconds. Some say the key to achieving this is being focused on doing the deed, and keep your mind clear of anything else.

2. They can cure headaches

Researchers have found that certain chemicals released in the brain during an orgasm can act as a pain-killer, and even ease headaches. So next time you feel your head hurting, you'll know what to do: Masturbate or go meet bae.

3. They increase your sense of smell

After you orgasm, your brain releases a hormone called prolactin in your brain's 'smell center.' Essentially, your brain is a lot more sensitive to smells after an orgasm, so you might be extra hungry after you have one, since your brain will be attracted to yummy smells like food.

Nigerians applaud singer Falz over sexual violence video

Nigerians and the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) have lauded singer, Folarin Falana a.k.a Falz for addressing sexual violence in his latest music video.

The reactions came after the award wining artiste announced the release of the video titled “Child of the world” on his social media platform @falzthebahdguy FALZ – “Child Of The World” official video out”.

Also, societal pressure forced her to get involved in sexual acts with rich men to raise money to live a certain standard of life.

This latest video is reminiscent of the music video titled “This is Nigeria” which was released by Falz earlier this year, also touching on issues affecting the Nigerian populace.

Meanwhile, Kemi Adetiba the music video director, thanked Nigerians for the feedback on the new video as it is currently YouTube’s number 1 trending video.

“Overwhelmed by the avalanche of messages and reposts on the new “Child of the World” video

Kelly Rowland on the moment she knew her husband was ‘The One’

Kelly Rowland “almost” walked away from marriage because she was “scared” about committing herself to one person

The 37-year-old singer has admitted she was “nervous” about giving her full commitment to Tim Weatherspoon – with whom she has three-year-old son Titan – at the start of their relationship, but she soon learnt to embrace it.

In an interview with Vogue Australia, Kelly – who tied the knot with Tim in 2014 – spilled: “At the beginning, I was scared of the idea of loving one person. I was nervous about being with one person for the rest of my life.”

The Stole hitmaker blames her string of bad relationships on her past outlook, but her fears went away when Tim suggested they go on a “break”, because she knew from his response they were meant to be together.

Recalling their conversation, she continued: “I’d had the worst relationships and I was so scared and said: ‘How about we take a break from dating?’ and he said: ‘What if we took a break from dating and God sent you a guy and that guy was me?’ And I was like click! I hung up the phone.

“I’d had the worst relationships and I was so scared and said: ‘How about we take a break from dating?’ and he said: ‘What if we took a break from dating and God sent you a guy and that guy was me?’ And I was like click! I hung up the phone.”

“I was scared, because I knew he was my husband in that moment. And I almost ran away from that, but I just embraced it.”

The Destiny’s Child star wouldn’t be without her spouse as he is her “rock” and she admires him, despite him being a “freak” and an “a**hole” from time to time

Kelly admitted: “Marriage is awesome, it has its ups and downs, like anything in life, but it’s incredible.

“My husband is my rock, my best friend.

“He believes when I don’t, believes that anything can work and that anything is possible in such a positive light.

“I think he’s a freak sometimes, no-one can see things like that, but he’s a realist and he’s positive and he’s an a*sh*le, but I love him for everything he does, like in the cutest way of an a**h*le.”

The Do's And Don'ts Of Effective Get-The-Guy Flirting, Says Science

You can be a catch, too!

When it comes to flirting , many experts in the field of love and dating offer so much advice on the do's and don'ts. Do twirl your hair and flutter your lashes. Don't cross your arms because you appear unwelcoming. Do wear nice clothes. Don't overdo it. Do talk about something interesting about your life. Don't talk about your kids or your last divorce.

There are many flirting tips just like these. Sometimes they go well, and sometimes they go horribly wrong. But what if you base your flirting on science? That is, the science of attraction .

According to a Medical Daily article by Chris Weller, there is a science to flirting in a way that can spark positive results. Here are 5 do's and don'ts of flirting that will teach you how to flirt, according to science.

1. Don't assume your intention is obvious. Do communicate clearly.

Blogspot

When we flirt with someone, we often assume that they know that we're flirting with them and they are reciprocating. This is called signal amplification bias , where we assume that people can pick up on what we want them to feel and will react accordingly. And this is where the misunderstandings begin.

A man may be flirting intensively with a woman while waiting in line for coffee at Starbucks, but she thinks he's only being friendly and striking up a conversation while they wait.

"Instead, be direct — not obtuse, but not coy either. Communicate your feelings when they count," says Weller.

2. Don't use a wingperson. Do follow your instincts.

Contrary to popular belief, having a wingman or wingwoman doesn't really help with attracting someone. This only results in miscommunication between you and the person you intend to flirt with and get to know.

But if you absolutely must have a wingperson, choose a wingman. According to a study done by psychologists from the University of Kansas , subjects were shown videos of people interacting and had to guess if the people were flirting or not. The subjects guessed correctly only 38 percent of the time. However, men performed better at identifying flirting compared to women.

3. Don't focus on the physical looks. Do get to know the person.

Tumblr

This seems like common sense, but many fall for the physical looks prior to the personality. Studies have shown that it's men's "level of explicitness and social affiliations" that predicted a successful chemistry between men and women, not the men's looks.

"This isn’t to say looks don’t matter. They just don’t matter the most ," says Weller.

4. Don't be pale-faced. Do add some color to your face.

A team of researchers found that "the intensity of red coloration in males is associated with social dominance, testosterone levels, and mate selection."

Flushed cheeks attract , but not too much or you'll appear aggressive instead of flirtatious. For the ladies, this is when your favorite blush comes in handy. A little pink flush doesn't hurt. As for the men, however, "If you can help it, stay a little flushed. Maybe your crippling embarrassment can help with that," says Weller.

5. Don't be silent and brooding. Do open up.

Tumblr

As much as you want to appear strong, mysterious, and brooding... don't. This may seem endearing at first, but then it also repels attraction .

This 20 year old cultist kills for ₦10k each and wears hijab to kill targets

A female member of a notorious cult got arrested by the Police in Lagos and has made a startling revelation on how she killed members of rival cult groups and any other person for a fee of N10,000.

While speaking when she was paraded by the Police in Lagos on Monday, a 20-year-old self-confessed sniper of the dreaded Eiye confraternity, Mariam Abiola, revealed how she killed four rival gang members in the Ilasamaja area of the state.

The young girl who admitted dropping out of school in SS3, was arrested on Monay morning together with three male accomplices by a police team from the Ilasamaja division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Titilayo Oriyomi.

While making her confessions to police interrogators, she said it was easier for her to operate unnoticed wearing a hijab, adding that a member of her gang she described as an herbalist always prepared charms for her before she embarked on any major operation.

“He said I needed to blend into the system by being a member of the Eiye confraternity. I agreed. Thereafter, Sadiq taught me how to use a gun. By the time I went through training three times, I knew how to fire accurately.

“Anytime I was going to kill, Sadiq would give me the person’s picture and send the address to my phone. I usually wore a white male flowing gown and white hijab whenever we were going to kill any rival member.

“We always went in a group of four, including Wasiu and Segun. The gun was usually tucked inside my white flowing gown.

“On getting to the target’s house, which was usually at night, other members would jump through the fence and open the gate for me.

“I would enter and fire the person in the chest and forehead before leaving there.

“I have killed four persons. None of our targets survived. I killed one guy at Fadeyi area of Lagos. Another one at Hassan area, one at Ajeh area.

“At the end of each killing, Sadiq would pay me N10,000 and five others N20,000.

“I had struck at Fabiyi, Hassan and Aje streets and another street, all in Ilasamaja.

“Before we leave for any killing, we would visit the herbalist who would give us charms to put residents to sleep until the operation is concluded. I never felt bad killing anybody.”

Meanwhile, Sadiq also admitted being a member of the Eiye confraternity but denied knowing Abiola.

Speaking on the arrest, Lagos State commissioner of police, CP Imohimi Edgal said, “It is shocking to see a young lady of Abiola’s age talk of killings. Parents should do more by monitoring their children.

“It is worrisome that her confession are startling, chronicling the number of killings. Apart from being an assassin, she was also an armourer for her gang.”

Man, accomplice vandalise transformer, steal cable in Lagos

A 32-year-old applicant, Kazeem Popoola, on Tuesday appeared in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly vandalising a transformer and stealing a cable valued at N225,000.

Popoola, whose address is unknown, had pleaded not guilty to a three-count of conspiracy, stealing and damage to property slammed on him.

The offences, according to Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Clifford Ogu, were committed at midnight of July 15 at Ajumonire, Meiran in Abule-Egba, a suburb of Lagos.

Ogu said the accused and one other man were caught by the vigilance group at midnight with the transformer cable.

“The accused was arrested while his accomplice escaped with the cable valued at N225,000.

“The accused was brought to the police station and he told the police that they damaged the transformer connection before they were able to steal the cable,” he said.

According to Ogu, the cable is the property of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company.

Breweries run out of beer bottles as Germans drink to combat hot weather

Soaring temperatures in Germany’s ongoing summer heat wave have seen so many drinkers reach for a cold beer that breweries are running out of bottles and crates.

“This is an industry-wide drama,” Niklas Other, publisher of the beverage industry magazine Inside, disclosed this week.

A prolonged stretch of hot, dry weather has fuelled demand for the amber brew, leaving the shortage of reusable bottles and crates “particularly pronounced” this summer, the German Brewers’ Federation added.

One desperate brewery has taken to Facebook to urge customers in the beer-loving nation to return their empties and redeem the small deposit they paid on the glassware.

“We need your help!” the Moritz Fiege brewery wrote.

“Great weather + great beer = great thirst. The catch: although we regularly buy new bottles, we’re running low. So, before you dash off on your holiday, please return your Moritz Fiege empties,” the post went on.

“While you’re lying in the sun, we’ll refill the bottles.”

Despite the bottlenecks, breweries are rubbing their hands at the unexpected sales boost in a country where consumption of the golden nectar has been steadily declining in recent years.

“If August and September aren’t rained out, 2018 promises to be a good year,” industry expert Other told DPA.

Germans drank on average 101 litres (26 gallons) of beer each last year, down from around 140 litres annually in the 1980s.

But Germans remain some of the biggest beer lovers in the European Union, with only the Czechs drinking more.

2,400 NYSC members deployed to Sokoto

No fewer than 2,400 corps members are expected for the 2018 Batch ‘B’ orientation exercise at Wamakko NYSC permanent orientation camp in Sokoto State.

Malam Sani Idris, the Public Relations Officer, Sokoto State headquarters of the National Youth Service Corps, on Tuesday said that registration of corps members had commenced.

He said Governor Aminu Tambuwal is expected to declare the orientation open on Thursday, July 26.

He said that routine physical, moral and educative activities were part of the activities lined up for the prospective corps members during the orientation programme.

The coordinator said that after the three weeks programme, corps members would be redeployed to various organisations for the mandatory primary assignment.

He said the exercise would prepare them for future challenges in accordance with government’s intention to inculcate moral discipline and foster unity along ethnic and religious lines.

Idris enjoined government and other organisations accepting corps members for their primary assignments to improve on the accommodation and welfare of the corps members.

He said the corps members would be made to understand the cultural values and knowledge of environment aside their own states to inculcate in them a sense of patriotism and national development.

Blockade of Saraki's home must have been by his security aides, Police claim

Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, has said that the blockade of the Abuja home of Senate President Bukola Saraki must have been by his own security aides, rather than by the Police. as widely reported.

Moshood, in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon, said that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has consequently ordered a probe into the incidence.

The media had reported earlier on Tuesday that operatives of the Department of State Services and policemen laid siege to Saraki’s home in Abuja.

Saraki had also alleged that the siege was an attempt to stop some members of the Senate from defecting from the ruling party.

However, Moshood denied that the Police blocked Saraki from leaving his residence in the morning, noting that the “unathorised blockade” must have been carried out by his (Saraki’s) security aides.

He added that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered an investigation into the incident.

Leeds utility man Madeley passes away aged 73

Former Leeds player Paul Madeley has died at the age of 73, the club have announced.

Madeley spent his entire 17-year career with the West Yorkshire side, winning two First Division titles, the FA Cup, and the League Cup under manager Don Revie.

He also played 24 times for England during the 1970s.

"Paul Madeley passed away peacefully today (23 July) surrounded by his family in Leeds," read a statement from his family, published on Leeds' website.

"Paul was a much-loved husband, father and brother and the family are extremely proud of his achievements in life and on the field for Leeds United and England.

"He was born in Beeston, a stones-throw from Elland Road, and only ever played and supported Leeds United.

"The late Don Revie christened him his 'Rolls Royce' and to us he was just that - a class act as a husband and a father who always had time for everyone he met.

"Paul's wife Ann and sons Jason and Nick would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.

"At this difficult time, we ask for privacy as we grieve a great loss."

July 23, 2018

Madeley, who mainly operated in defence or midfield but played in every position other than goalkeeper for Leeds, made more than 700 appearances for his hometown club.

He made his first-team debut in 1964, a season which ended with Leeds winning the old Second Division title, and went on to play a major role in the most successful era in the club's history.

During his Elland Road career, the Whites won the First Division in 1969 and 1974, as well as finishing runners-up five times.

They also won the 1968 League Cup, the 1972 FA Cup and were beaten in two European finals; the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1973 and the 1975 European Cup.

"Everyone at #LUFC is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of #LUFC legend Paul Madeley. Our thoughts are with his family and friends," Leeds wrote on their official Twitter account.

Madeley made his international debut against Northern Ireland in 1971, with his final appearance for his country coming six years later against Holland.

Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani tweeted: "Incredibly sad to hear about the passing of a Leeds legend. RIP Rolls Royce - my condolences to Ann, Jason, Nick and the rest of his family."

10 Things Guys Will Never Understand About Girls

Us males are a clueless, relatively embarrassing gender–particularly when it comes to interpreting female actions. Here are some trends–some recent, some timeless–that even the most competent male has a tough time figuring out:

1. Why It Takes So Long To Get Ready

I have no idea what half the bathroom gadgets are for. I don’t think most guys do. Probably a good thing for everyone.

2. Why Girls Always Say Their Hair “Looks Terrible.”

When we’re leaving to go somewhere, my girlfriend will oftentimes comment on how terrible her hair looks. Approximately 100% of the time, it looks as beautiful as always.

I am not trying to be flattering here–I legitimately don’t understand why it looks so terrible.

Follow Thought Catalog on Facebook.

3. In General, Why It’s Protocol To Be Really Bad At Accepting Compliments

4. Why Shows On Bravo! Television Are So Compelling

Much like older siblings get sucked into to watching a lot of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody via their little sisters, 2013 boyfriends tend to be subjected with ‘sodes of various Housewives of various urban areas.

I watched one semi-recently, and it involved one woman with a lot of plastic surgery splashing wine on another woman with a lot of plastic surgery. I’m sure it was interesting, but it was too difficult to get over the alarming amount of plastic surgery to figure out what was going on.

5. The Allure Of Pinterest

Pinterest appears to be the internet equivalent of “The Girls Room”–that sketch in The Amanda Show where girls would converse, mostly about the fact that they’re having a conversation in the girl’s room.

As a fairly competent male internet user, I take a lot of pride in having very little idea of what goes on in there.

6. How To Alleviate A Cry

I usually go for a joke. Sometimes, this works wonderfully in my favor. Other times, not so much. There appears to be no formula here.

7. Why Everyone Needs To Get Presents For The Holidays

Every holiday season, my mom used to buy some of the most obscure people in our lives–like the elementary school art teacher–small gifts for the holidays. My dad found this amusing in the way people find slow, deliberately painful torture to be amusing.

While the vast majority of girls probably aren’t going out buying gifts for their twelfth best friend–especially given how “broke” we all are nowadays–this is definitely a female-centric trend that seemed like a relevant thing to address here.

8. Why That One Girl’s Outfit Is So Terrible

Whenever I’ve gone out with a group of girls, there’s a 54-67% chance that at some point over the course of the night, there will be a girl on the other side of the bar who has a “terrible” outfit. A good 2-3 minutes will then be spent bashing that girl’s outfit.

The only time this ever makes sense to me is when a girl is wearing a single leaf, seemingly designed for prostitution. But sometimes the outfits are just clothes on a person. I guess it’s better than guys having barfights over the fact that someone got accidentally pushed, but this is a mystery.

9. Why The Passive-Aggressive Compliment Is An Accepted Thing

The fact that some friendships appear to exist in a place fostered by backhanded jealously and compliment jabs will forever be baffling. I’d be terrified.

10. Why We’ve Never Gotten Frozen Yogurt

Go to 2:25 in this clip to see what all the fuss is about. I wouldn’t hate a frozen yogurt.

BREAKING: Security agents reportedly lay siege on Saraki, Ekweremadu’s residences

Security agencies are reportedly laying siege on the homes of Senate President Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu in Abuja.

The move is said to be an apparent ploy to prevent them from making it to the National Assembly today because of an alleged plan by lawmakers to decamp en masse from the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Mr Saraki was summoned to appear at police department for further investigation into alleged killings in Kwara State at 8:00 a.m. today. It remained unclear why the police blocked his residence at dawn.

Reports said the planned cross carpeting, if allowed to take place, would render the APC a minority party before the end of Tuesday.

Mr Saraki’s spokesperson, Yusuph Olaniyonu, confirmed the siege.

“As I am talking to you, I cannot access the street. They have barricaded the road and I cannot say his whereabouts now,” Mr Olaniyonu said.

“I hear they are doing the same thing at the Deputy Senate President’s house,” Mr Olaniyonu said.

He said he suspects that the police want to stop Messers Saraki and Ekweremadu from presiding over the Senate sitting.

The media aide to Mr Ekweremadu, Uche Anichukwu, also confirmed the siege this morning.

“The house is currently surrounded by security agencies,” Mr Anichukwu said “since early in the morning.”

Mr Anichukwu is not sure if his boss will be allowed to attend today’s plenary.

“That I cannot say. When you attack a man’s house, how is he supposed to be at plenary?” he questioned.

Kola Ologbondiyan, a spokesperson for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said Nigeria’s democracy was under assault, a development he said would be resisted.

“Democracy has been placed under a jackboot. We are now in a totalitarian government,” Mr Ologbondiyan spoke by telephone Tuesday morning. “You can not stop the National Assembly, which is a key element of a constitutional republic.”

“We will resist this.”

A spokesperson for the APC did not immediately answer calls seeking comments.

The police are yet to provide reasons for the apparent siege. However, Mr Saraki was summoned by the police and asked to report by 8:00 a.m. to day in connection to the Offa robbery incident in Kwara State for which the police said some suspects mentioned Mr Saraki as a sponsor.

News Digest: Six soldiers killed by militants, says Somalia,;Ethiopia and Eritrea announce football friendly

1.Six soldiers killed by militants, says Somalia

The Somali government has confirmed that Islamist militants seized a military base in the south of the country early on Monday before soldiers retook it after heavy fighting.

A spokesman said six soldiers were killed, along with dozens of al-Shabab fighters.

An al-Shabab spokesman had earlier said the attack on the base at Baar Sanguni near Kismayo had killed 27 soldiers.

2.Ethiopia and Eritrea announce football friendly

The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) and its Eritrean counterpart have agreed to stage a historic friendly game between the two nations in Asmara next month.

Both nations have been avoiding games that pitted them against each other since the 1998-2002 border war. But they now want to play again, following Ethiopia and Eritrea's diplomatic thaw and declaration that the "state of war" is over.

Ethiopia boycotted games against Eritrea in 2000 and the 2010 Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecefa) Under-20 tournament, which was hosted in the capital, Asmara.

3.De Beers moves 200 elephants from SA to Mozambique

The mining company De Beers says it has started an operation to move 200 elephants from a nature reserve it owns in South Africa to neighbouring Mozambique.

De Beers says its Venetia Limpopo Reserve is currently home to more elephants than the ecosystem can sustain, whilst across the border Mozambique's elephant numbers have been declining.

Moving 200 elephants over a distance of 1,500 km (932 miles) is an ambitious task.

4. Kenya news presented by married couple

National television history was made in Kenya when a husband and wife team presented the news together for the first time.

Leading Swahili TV news presenter Lulu Hassan took to the air yesterday to present Citizen TV's Swahili-language bulletin alongside her husband Rashid Abdalla.

Ms Hassan presents the popular Nipashe Wikendi programme on what is Kenya's most popular TV station.

The pairing has been touted as the first ever married couple to present the news on Kenyan television.

5. Greece wildfires: At least 20 killed, dozens injured

Forest fires raging across Greece have killed at least 20 people, the government says, as the authorities there seek international assistance.

Hundreds of firefighters are battling the blazes and people have left their homes near the capital, Athens.

Early on Tuesday government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos confirmed that the death toll had risen to 20.

Most of the victims were trapped in the seaside resort of Mati, 40km (25 miles) north-east of Athens, and died either in their homes or their cars.

More than 104 are injured, 11 seriously, he added, with 16 children among the casualties

Transfer news: Messi to join Ronaldo in Serie A

Lionel Messi may be set to reignite his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo in Italy, after the Barcelona superstar emerged as a shock target for Inter Milan.

Ronaldo’s nine-year rivalry with Messi in LaLiga ended this summer, with the Portugal captain leaving Real Madrid for Juventus in a £88m transfer.

But just weeks after leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, speculation has already begun over the pair resuming their battle in Serie A.

The rumour comes from Marco Tronchetti Provera, the CEO of Pirelli and long-time sponsors of Inter, who claims the club’s owners Suning could launch a monster bid for Messi, according to TuttoSport.

“I hope that Suning, once Financial Fair Play will allow it, can make a huge signing,” Provera said.

“Messi? How can you say no to Messi?”

Nigeria: Who Will Emerge the Hottest Female Artist in 2018?

The music scene in Nigeria is blessed with a potpourri of Nigerian female musicians, who are good in their chosen career

The female artistes often get more attention than their male counterparts. This is because women and their careers come with a lot of expectations. The society expects so much from the women folk that they live with the burden almost all through their lives.

Five years ago, the music scene spotlight was on Omawumi, Waje, Tiwa Savage, Chidinma and perhaps Seyi Shay. The debate on who was the most talented or hottest female artiste got people talking about which artistes also exudes sexiness and great sex appeal, plus attribute in the hiphop culture. Omawumi is a great performing artiste and her stage craft and how she engages the audience while performimg was second to none. During her Lasso Of Truth, debut album launch held at the Oriental hotel in April, 2013, she paraded great performances that made the occasion a success. Even the buzz and the branding of plus size women showing their great features with the 'OmaWonder' black t-shirt was mind blowing.

Aside the sonorous veteran singer and elegant stallion, Onyeka Onwenu and Wizkid making a duet with Omawumi on stage, the 1st-runner-up of maiden Idols West Africa, also paraded a session where four of the top singers wearing the same purple stylish dress, came on stage together with Omawonder to sing. They were Tiwa Savage, Waje and Seyi Shay.

Back to the present, the stage has been turned around and Omawumi Megbele seemed to have taken a back seat having had her shine on the music scene- just making money on corporate and other performances aside her personal projects. Now Tiwa Savage who has held the reign in the last three years, is not ready to come off the horse of the hottest Nigerian female singer- and the most bankable at that. With her Sugarcane EP (extended play), a mini-album released last year and hit songs upon hit songs laced with great collabos, Tiwa has continued to show her dexterity and the uniqueness of that golden and 'million-dollar' voice texture. Her hit and most downloadable song, 'All Over' is presently having over 2,303,738 views on a youtube channel. The official music version of 'All Over' video published last year, May 22, 2017 has 14,327,880 views as at early Tuesday morning when our correspondent checked. What of 'Ma lo' which featured Starboy's Wizkid- the music artiste Tiwa presently shares the privilege of being both at the top of the Nigeria music industry and African music hip-hop scene, going by available indices. Savage and Wizkid even clinched 'Artiste Of The Year' female and male respectively at the Africa Music Awards AFRIMA 2017 held last November. Other songs of the six-track Sugar Cane EP include- Get It Now, Me and You, Sugar Cane, Ma lo, All Over.

So who can compete with Tiwa Savage in songs, performances, shows, tours and the buzz in 2018? Seyi Shay is in the fray with her Yoloyolo song among others. Talented and sonorous Waje seems to have mellowed, staying on her lane and doing advocacy- her involvement with One.Org as an ambassador. 'Single & Searching' singer, Yemi Alade comes a close second, thanks to her penetrating the Central and Southern Africa music terrain. She was reported to have upstaged Tiwa Savage in terms of acceptance and having music tours in that part of Africa. But between Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade, one that music followers keep mentioning her name is the fast rising singer, Niniola who possesses such incredible voice range and texture and also a sex appeal advantage with her great dancing skills.

Drumroll Records artiste, Niniola was the artiste that thrilled the audience and TV viewers at last Sunday Big Brother Naija Double Wahala eviction show and Niniola Apata killed it! The social media went frenzy on account of her excellent performance and of course her sexiness.

The lady who became the fourth runner's-up in MTN Project Fame 2013 contest, has Maradona, Sicker and other hit songs off her 'This Is Me' debut album released in November 2017. The manner that Niniola composes her song is also laudable with songs like Oyin among others showing on different music and video platforms. Niniola is a star in the making and she stands to last in the game if she keeps top her craft. Her genre which she says is Afrobeat + House Music (popular in South Africa), is a breath of fresh air in the Nigeria music scene and a new mix among the female artistes here.

Simi is in a world of her own and her genre is soul music. She has won HEADIES 2016 best Female vocal performance award and AFRIMA 2017 as well. The likes of Tiwa and others will gush at how the small-sized but mighty singer, gets her retinue of songs out. Her 'Simisola' 2017 debut album has twelve songs with two bonus tracks and they include Smile For Me, Remind me, Joromi, Aimasiko, Complete Me, Gone For Good, Original Baby, One Kain, Take Me Back ft Adekunle Gold and others.

Other known artistes who may steal a show include Cynthia Morgan, Niyola, YBNL's Temmie Ovwasa and maybe Chidinma in her come back career. It is as competitive as it is and the female artistes work twice harder than their male colleagues. So who will become the hottest Nigerian female artiste of 2018? It is still a long way -ten adventurous and eventful months and Tiwa Sexy is still way above the rest. Industry observers are of the view that Niniola, Simi both have the potential to upstage Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage As 'The Hottest Female Artiste' but it will take more work and time to achieve this.

German FA Denies Mesut Ozil Racism Allegation

The German Football Association (DFB) has denied racial abuse claims made by Mesut Ozil in a statement announcing his retirement from International football. In the statement, Ozil accused the German football federation, especially President, Reinhard Grindel of racially abusing him and making him a scapegoat for Germany’s poor outing at the World Cup.

Part of Ozil’s statement said: “In the eyes of Grindel and his supporters, I am German when we win, but I am an immigrant when we lose,”.

The German FA have now come out to rebute the statement and state that the federation stands for diversity. The German statement said: “We reject the notion that the DFB is associated with racism. The DFB stands for diversity, from the representatives at the top to the boundless, day-to-day dedication of people at the base.” “The DFB is very grateful to Mesut Ozil for his outstanding performance in the jersey of the German national teams,” continued the statement. “It is regrettable that Mesut Ozil felt that he had not been sufficiently protected as a target of racist slogans. But it was important that Mesut Ozil, like Ilkay Gundogan before him, gives answers to the photo (with Erdogan). “In the DFB, we win and lose together, as a team. The DFB would have been happy if Mesut Ozil had wanted to remain part of the team on this shared basis. He decided otherwise.”

Some Advice About Life For The Lost And Confused

Four years ago today was my first date with my ex-husband. It wasn’t much of a date, we hung out at his apartment and watched movies. The funny thing was I really hadn’t been interested in him to begin with; he was the manager at my coffee shop, and he had interviewed me in my pajamas the day after I had lost my job. He spent a month trying to get my phone number and another two weeks after that trying to get me to hang out with him.

I remember driving to his apartment, it was like 10 o’clock at night, thinking about how he thought this was going to be a booty call but I wasn’t going to sleep with him. And I didn’t. We just talked, it didn’t take long for me to fall for him. He was much older than I was, smart, seemed to have his life together, and he always smelled like coffee. He made me feel safe.

In these past four years, my entire life has changed. I’ve learned so much, grown up so much, changed so much. Everything is different. I would say I have no regrets but that isn’t true. But in the end, all of these regrets have brought me to where I am today. I’m going to tell you what I’ve learned because I think it’s important to know.

Save your money: Seriously, I wish my parents had instilled this in me. Murphy’s law is real and everything that can go wrong will and does. It also happens that it will all go wrong when you have absolutely no money in the bank and are living paycheck to paycheck. Make sure when you are moving in somewhere that you are making enough money to afford, put money into savings, and go out with the girls.

Don’t fuck up your credit: Yes credit cards are great, and everyone should have one, but soon you will find yourself with maxed cards, no jobs and debt collectors calling. This debt will make it hard to dig yourself out, it will make it hard to find a job, and it will mean you have no cushion on the day your gas light turns on and your debit card is declined. Get a credit card, and use it only for emergencies. Seriously, you will thank me.

Live alone: I have lived both alone, with my husband, with male roommates and with female roommates. Ultimately living alone will at some points make you feel lonely, but there is nothing better than coming home to your own space, your own mess, and to being able to shut the door on life when it starts to feel like too much. Of course having a roommate can be both great and terrible but living alone allows you to surround yourself with people when you want them and shut your self in when you don’t. If you can afford it I highly suggest it, even if it’s just for a year.

Get a pet: Seriously, I am fortunate to have two cats and a dog, and they have been my greatest support system. You will never wake up alone, and someone will always be happy to see you when you come home. No matter what, a pet will love you, whether you’re angry, smelly, rich, poor; it is the only constant love in life.

Have a porch and spend time on it every day: Drink your coffee, have a drink, write, read; whatever you do, do it outside, the fresh air is good for you.

Be a little promiscuous: Do it with someone you don’t like, someone you don’t care about, it will make you feel sexy and powerful. I’m not talking all the time but do it at least once. Sometimes that’s what it takes to realize that as much as you try to shut yourself off you do need love.

It’s okay to walk away: Whether it’s family, a friend, a spouse, a boyfriend. Sometimes it just gets to a point where you can’t take it anymore, and you don’t have too. Walking away doesn’t make you weak, it means you’re strong enough to recognize a bad situation that wont change and get out of it; sometimes that is the thing that takes the most strength.

Don’t make the dramatic attention-seeking girl your best friend: Ultimately her desire for drama will negatively impact your life. It’s ok to go out with her every once in a while, but she doesn’t need to know your life or your story. She will drag you in and she will drag you down.

A man will not complete you: Sure a man is nice to have, it’s nice to share your life with someone, it’s nice to have someone to share your success with, to cook for, to come home to. But the most important part of having a successful relationship is being able to love yourself, complete yourself, and have your own life.

Failure is inevitable and good for you: At least the past two years of my life have been a giant fail, but honestly, if I hadn’t been through what I had been through I wouldn’t be where I am. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, failure is not forever and in the end, you will come out of it better then ever. Failure is necessary for success and you will never succeed if you spend your entire life being afraid of failing because then you will never try.

Don’t take your friends for granted for a man: We are all those girls who to a point forget our friends and chose our relationships over our friends. Don’t do that, a man can and probably will walk away and you may find yourself alone, but truthfully, your true friends will forgive you.

Learn how to forgive: No matter how much someone hurts you, it takes way too much energy to stay angry. Forgive, that doesn’t mean you have to forget, it doesn’t mean the hurt they caused will go away, but forgiveness is the first step to healing. Most importantly, forgive yourself; it’s easy to hate yourself for what’s happened but remember that what you did was exactly what you wanted at the time and someday it will be worth it.

Go to college: Seriously, the job market is tough and supporting an apartment on $12, an hour is no easy feat. Even if you don’t want to, go to college; the adult you will thank you for it.

Dress up: Every day, even when you feel like shit, even when you don’t feel like it. Ultimately it will make you feel better.

Listen to your hairdresser: Even if you don’t like what they say, they are right, remember that, and ultimately you will thank them for it.

Drugs kill people: I don’t mean in the obvious way. Whether it’s your spouse, your best friend, no matter whom it is. Once that person becomes an addict, the person you know is dead, they may still be breathing but they are gone. You can’t save them, loving them will not make it go away, and if you can’ learn to walk away they will destroy you as well as themselves. Maybe they don’t mean to do it, but it will happen. You walking away may be the thing to save them and even at that point, it may be too late. Seriously, be selfish, walk away, the only thing that can change an addict is themselves.

Its okay to love: No matter how hurt you are, no matter how much you say you don’t want it, know that its ok to let someone in. I am a long way from this, but someday it will be necessary to let someone in, and I hope that when the time comes I will be able to do that.

Spend time with the girls: No matter what you’re doing make sure you make time to spend time with the girls, it’s important in many ways. Don’t let anything or anyone stop you from living your life.

Have something to believe in: Whether it’s god, or shoes, whatever, make sure you believe in something, because eventually there will come a day when it’s all you have, and if you don’t have something to believe in it will be very difficult. No matter how you were raised, believe in something.

Germany star Mesut Ozil announces international retirement due to 'racism and disrespect'

The Arsenal attacker has hit out at the treatment he received from the German football association (DFB), confirming he will no longer wear the jersey

Mesut Ozil has confirmed that he is retiring from international football with immediate effect following the "treatment he received from the DFB."

The Arsenal attacker claims that the way he has been treated by the German football association makes him "no longer want to wear the German national team shirt" and he has had enough of being "disrespected" and used for "political propaganda".

Ozil announced the decision in the third part of a lengthy statement released on his Twitter account, with the first part explaining the reasoning behind his controversial photograph with Turkey president Recep Erdogan and the second update criticising how the media and sponsors reacted to the incident.

The way Ozil has been treated by German media, politicians and especially the DFB has caused him to make the "difficult decision" to announce his international retirement, saying that: "I now feel unwanted and think that what I have achieved since my international debut in 2009 has been forgotten."

In those nine years, Ozil has played 92 times for his country, scoring 23 times. He was part of the side that lifted the 2014 World Cup and also helped Germany to the semi-finals of the 2012 and 2016 European Championships.

Ozil also went with Germany to the 2010 and 2018 World Cups and was named national team player of the year five times.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES MONDAY, JULY 23RD. JESUS MADE REMISSION OF SINS  POSSIBLE

Be it known unto you therefore, brethren,  that through this man is proclaimed  unto you remission of sins: and by him  every one that believeth is justified from  all things, from which ye could not be  justified by the law of Moses  (Acts 13:38-39 ASV).

Before Jesus came, there were sacrifices and  offerings for the atonement of sins in the Old  Testament. The Jews always had to offer sacrifices year  after year for sins. These involved the killing of animals;  several bulls and goats, but the Bible says in Hebrews  10:4, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and  of goats should take away sins.”

The blood of bulls and goats couldn’t provide  remission, but when Jesus came, with one sacrifice,  He perfected forever all those who are called in Him.  He offered Himself once, not for the forgiveness of our  sins, but for the total blotting away or remission of sins.  (Hebrews 9:14). He made remission of sins possible.

Too many around the world aren’t aware that their  sins have been remitted. He didn’t do it for Christians;  He did it for the whole world (John 3:16). There’re  those today who ignorantly put themselves through  some harsh penance; they punish themselves for their  sins, thinking if they suffered enough, God would be  sympathetic towards them and overlook their sins. But  it doesn’t work that way.

The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through  faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians  2:8-9). It’s not by your efforts. So, it doesn’t matter how  many times you buffet yourself for your sins; it makes  no difference how long and hard you suffer and go  through self-inflicted penance; your sins can’t, and won’t  be remitted that way. What was required was sinless  blood, the blood of Jesus Christ. He alone was qualified  to offer Himself for the remission of our sins.

Acts 10:43 says, “To him give all the prophets  witness, that through his name whosoever believeth  in him shall receive remission of sins.” If you’re born  again, happy are you, because you have remission  of sins; total obliteration and removal of sins—past,  present, and future. His blood is that powerful; it speaks  better things (Hebrews 12:24); it speaks of eternal  redemption and eternal inheritance (Hebrews 9:11-14).  Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus,  whom you sent for the remission of the sins of the  world. I walk in the finished works of Christ, and the  glory that His death, burial, and resurrection wrought  for me. I’m forever righteous, holy, blameless and  unreproveable in your sight. What a blessing!

FURTHER STUDY:
Hebrews 10:4-7 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. [7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Hebrews 9:13-15 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: [14] How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? [15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
